Review: Until Jax by Aurora Rose Reynolds

Release Date:
September 29, 2015

~~Blurb~~

Ellie Anthony isn’t looking for love. She isn’t even looking for a man, but when Jax Mayson insists on keeping her and her daughter safe, she’s left with no choice but to trust him. Now she just hopes she doesn’t get hurt when she falls hard for a guy who’s known for breaking hearts.

Jax Mayson knows that Ellie is his BOOM the moment he sees her. When he finds out she has a daughter, he realizes he wants a family, and he will do whatever is necessary to keep both of his girls safe, even if that means facing the demons from his past.

~~Selina's 4 Star review~~

*I have received an ARC for an honest review*
Oh my alpha male hotness.  Jax.  I want to be the object of his affection but I’ll take being happy for Jax being with Ellie.  I mean they are pretty amazing together.  I love reading Mrs. Reynolds books.  She has such an amazing gift to make all the woman in the real world want so badly the fictional men she creates.

The book starts with Jax taking over the care of Ellie in the hospital.  I was so looking forward to seeing the BOOM and I wasn’t disappointed in the least.  Jax’s BOOM was pretty much the first thing we read and how Ellie was it for him.  Which if you’ve read the Until Series you’re going to be familiar with.  Ellie already feels a connection towards Jax but isn’t in the right mind set to accept what she feels in her heart to be true.  Her mind and past are something that she is going to need to overcome in order to be truly happy.  Jax’s past with women come back to haunt him and has the potential to ruin everything he wants with Ellie.  Ellie’s past is enabling her to accept what’s right in front of her.

However, Ellie doesn’t just have herself to worry about either.  She has a little girl that’s depending on her and Ellie needs to make sure that she is doing what’s best for the both of them. Good thing Jax knows exactly what’s best for them.

So with the women in Jax’s past life popping in and out, threatening everything, Ellie’s recent hostage experience and learning the brutal truth of betrayal, they have so much to overcome.
Until Jax was a very easy read.  I devoured this book in less than 6 hours.  I was so glad that some of the past characters made an appearance but didn’t over shadow the main characters story. Also, let’s take a moment here and just talk a bit about Hope.  I mean I just was a puddle of emotions whenever Jax interacted with Hope.  She really did have Jax wrapped around her finger tips and it was freaking hilarious.  Talk about alpha dad.  There was this scene where Hope was playing with a little boy and Jax thought the kid, whose was just a toddler himself, was flirting with Hope and Jax apparently thought the little boys, who’s a toddler, intentions weren’t pure.  I’m sorry, I just can’t stop picturing that scene without cracking up.

I loved this book and will be recommending this to pretty much anyone who wants to read about alphas and insta-love.

“P.S.”  I’m still cracking up about that.
