The enigmatic Hancock has been both opponent and ally to the KGI teams for as long as they've known him. Always working a deep game, Hancock's true allegiance has never been apparent, but one thing is for certain—he never lets anything get in the way of duty.

But now, his absolute belief in the primacy of his ultimate goal is challenged by a captive he's been ordered to guard, no matter how much she suffers in her prison. She's the only woman who's ever managed to penetrate the rigid walls surrounding his icy heart, but will he allow his perplexing feelings for the beautiful victim to destroy a mission he's spent years working to complete or will he be forced to sacrifice her for “the greater good.”

*I have received an ARC for an honest review*
When I started this book I really thought I knew what to expect.  I was so wrong it was laughable.  Maya Banks has written some really great books.  Types of books from m/m/m/f to bondage from sweet and caring to aloofness alpha.  But this?  This book was dirty, shameful, lustful, dark, and bottomless and I loved every minute of it.  The characters kept me on my toes from the first page all the way to the last.  There were times I was ready to throw my kindle across the room because the main male character Hancock could be…just so….MALE!  Hancock has this impenetrable shield that doesn’t crack and it’s so frustrating because he could be so damn stubborn in a bad way.  Then you have Honor.  She’s my freaking hero.  I want to be like her when I grow up.

Honor’s character is something to love.  She’s honorable and loyal to a fault.  She’s the type of friend that would be valuable to you in life.

Guy Hancock’s character developed throughout this book.  I was able to see growth with Hancock and was very pleased with all the bad and the good I read.

You can’t go into this book with a light heart.  This isn’t the type of book you can just read a few pages and set down to watch The Walking Dead or some other show you’re obsessed about.  I have many so I know this to be true.  The way Maya was able to orchestrate this story is nothing short of amazing. Ok, I’m just gonna come out and admit this…I cried.  There, I said it!  I cried like a baby and dear God, it was horrendous.  I hate to cry when I read books.  It makes it so much harder to read with all the salty liquid mess coming out of my eyes.  And don’t even mention the mascara.  Water proof ladies…waterproof.

I would recommend this to my friends and family.  Although, I probably would get some pretty obscene text during.  I’m OK with that though.  I’m not a very nice person.

There are characters that you’ll just fall in love with and you’re probably going to ask yourself why you did.  I sure as hell did.  But, just let it happen because it will be OK.  Well mostly.  Oh god, my eyes are leaking again.  On that note please read with caution and don’t throw your Kindle.  You will regret it I promise.

P.S…Good Mojo
