~~SYNOPSIS~~
Raegan Montgomery's life changed in an instant…

One minute you think you know someone and the next minute they’re a stranger. When Raegan was forced to make a decision, she ended up alone. All. Alone.

One step inside a gym was all it took.

The ring became her escape. She was more determined than ever to move on and forget her old life. That was, until she saw those blue eyes.

Garrett Johnson wants nothing more than to spend his time training and dominating in the ring.

It's what he's good at.

                                                                           It's what he does.

He has no time, or desire, to be entangled in a relationship. But after one look at Raegan, his whole world shifted. He needs her, he needs to know her, only its not so easy. This may be a fight he can’t win.

Will he be able to win Raegan over? Or will it end in a total knock out?

~ EXCERPT ~

I don’t want her fighting anymore. She doesn’t need to, she’s away from her dad, and he was the reason she started all this. I can take care of her and make sure she has everything she’s ever wanted. What I can’t figure out is how to bring it up without upsetting her. I finally have her where I have always wanted her and I’m scared to lose her. I’m not scared of anything except that. I could lose every fight for the rest of my life and not feel a thing, but to lose her would completely tear me apart. She’s turned my life around and made me want to be a better person. I don’t know what the future has in store for us but all I can hope is she’s there for the rest of my life.

~ Selina's 3.5 Star Review ~

TKO by Ana Layne is about a girl learning to be a woman in a world where she has no choice but to be complacent.  Or does she?  Rea AKA Reagan is in a harsh predicament.  She needs the one person who is without a doubt supposed to love you no matter what, not destroy you. Then she has the one person who she gave her heart to, who is supposed to cherish it not obliterate it, totally wreck her. When everything comes crashing down, Teagan is left in a life with blackness and shadows.

I liked the story line and read through it pretty quickly.  I thought the Heroine Reagan was a somewhat likeable character.  Although there were times when I really could have cared less whether or not she got her happy ending.  First, Reagan’s character went through some real stuff that a lot of people can relate to and with that I was rooting for her.  There were times where everything was going somewhat smoothly with her relationship with Garrett then to have her get drunk and drunk dial the…yup, ex-boyfriend.  I want to root for her not be disappointed in her. I found her character a bit weak.

Garrett is the main male character and he is just a little stubborn fool.  But it’s really hard to not fall in love with him.  He is just as bull headed as Reagan and it shows throughout the book too.  I liked his character and I enjoyed his growth to be the man he wanted to be for Reagan.

In the beginning of story that involved her ex-boyfriend James was pertinent to her growth in the story.  I liked him in the beginning but like every heartbroken lead female character, there’s always betrayal in some shape or form.  James got the ax and I thought that was the end of it.  However, I was mistaken.  James made a couple cameos in this book.  First off, I thought the book would have been more enjoyable if James was left in the beginning, along with Reagans past.  Throughout the book James character contradicted his sincerity.  I didn’t care too much about his part in the book and felt his role was pointless.

Now her father was a different story.  I loved how Ana made the father the villain.  However, I felt that the severity of his abuse was a little over the top.  Ana wrote the story to have some struggle in Reagans life but the path Ana had Reagans character going, moving forward, I would have set the physical abuse to mild instead of habanero hot.

Other than a few grammar errors and my previous statement, I honestly enjoyed this book.  I would suggest the author do a bit of research too about boxing.  There was a part where Garrett made a statement “I’ve only been defeated maybe ten times in two years.”  In a year a fighter could have anywhere between 4-8 fights a year.  However, I don’t recall what kind of fights these were either.  There really is no mention about any fights being sanctioned or unsanctioned.
